This past year we have helped community gardeners in Ethiopia, Haiti, Silicon Valley in California and elsewhere. Work during the eighties with Cesar Chavez and the United Farm Workers to promote California's Silicon Valley's agricultural heritage.



Pete Seeger recently wrote to us and said promoting and nurturing community gardens is one of the most important things that we humans can do !



Inspired by contact with Alan Chadwick in Saratoga, California. Chadwick was pioneer of University of California's science of sustainable agriculture.
OUR FOUNDATION HAS ROOTS IN ALL OF THE FOLLOWING :

The 30 year history of the University of California's science of Agroecology.

Over three decades of developing organic/sustainable gardening curricula for schools.

Worked to help include the term AGROECOLOGY in Merriam-Webster's dictionary.

The annual California Science Teachers Association Conference's efforts to promote a GARDEN-IN-EVERY-SCHOOL.

BIODIVERSITY
